Okonomimura

A modest, family-run backstreet okonomiyaki joint in Naruto recognizable by its large "Hiroshima-style" signboard. The retro interior centers on an L-shaped teppan counter plus a few teppan tables, run single-handedly by the owner in a warm, homely atmosphere; smoking is allowed. True to Hiroshima tradition, layers of cabbage, batter, and tenkasu are stacked and grilled on the iron plate rather than mixed — a style distinct from the Kansai/Osaka-mix okonomiyaki more common in Tokushima. Ingredients including aonori, flour, and tenkasu are shipped in from Hiroshima, and dishes are finished with the original "Carp sauce" from Hiroshima. All menu items are available for takeout, including by phone order.
