Moti's third-floor Roppongi dining room is styled after a maharaja's palace: ornate Indian furnishings, soft Indian music and 76 seats, with the cooks visible at work over the tandoor. The chain began in Akasaka-Mitsuke in 1978 and this branch opened the same October, making it one of the restaurants that established North Indian cooking in Tokyo. Chefs trained in India blend more than 40 directly imported spices, and beef, pork and lard have never been used. Butter chicken, tandoori grills and biryani lead the menu.
