Tucked away on the second floor of a quiet Nihonbashi office building, Nikutomo is a genuine hideaway — a small, stylish dining room where the mood stays calm and the plates arrive enormous. Opened in 2016 under the wing of the celebrated Tokyo meat house Nikuzan, it is a French-leaning bistro built entirely around meat: beef, horse and seasonal game. Dinner runs as a single set course of eight dishes, while at lunch the queue forms for the roast beef bowl, heaped with thick rosy slices until the rice vanishes underneath.
