Kissa Metro is a retro kissaten (Japanese coffee shop) housed in the basement of Dogenzaka Center Building in Shibuya, preserving the original Showa-era interior of the beloved "Kissaten Top" that operated on the same spot for about 50 years before closing in 2025. Operated by LD&K (the Udagawa Cafe group), the space retains its nostalgic dark wood furnishings, vintage signage, and counter seating while introducing a modern menu sensibility. The café serves signature deep-roasted drip coffee, classic toast sets and morning meals from 8:30 AM, as well as retro sweets like pudding and seasonal parfaits. Smoking is permitted throughout, making it a rare sanctuary for those who enjoy the full old-school kissaten experience late into the evening.
