A casual mountain shokudo on Mt. Tsukuba's Miyukigahara plateau, sitting in the row of teahouses just before the trail branches off toward Mt. Nyotai. Simple counter-and-table seating in a wood-panelled interior; the kitchen turns out a long printed menu of warming udon and soba bowls available in two-noodle pairings (try them with the rich Kenchin or Kamo-nan broth), classic donburi, three kinds of miso-based soup, and a small but well-loved sweets section of cream anmitsu in vanilla or matcha. Cash is awkward but e-money is accepted.
