A fast-casual onigiri counter tucked into the basement food concourse of Akasaka Biz Tower, directly connected to Akasaka Station. Onigiri Konga is a noren-wake (branch) of Otsuka's famous Onigiri Bongo, hand-shaping rice balls to order at a small open counter. The rice is Niigata Iwafune-grown Koshihikari, steamed then spread out to release excess moisture for a light, fluffy texture, wrapped in Ariake nori and filled with over 20 handmade ingredients, from classic salmon and pickled plum to soy-marinated egg yolk, beef sukiyaki and carbonara. Freshly made tofu and nameko mushroom soups and pickled sides round out a quick breakfast or lunch, eaten at the ten-seat counter or taken away.
