Sobadokoro Tengu is a relaxed, family-run soba shop tucked into the shitamachi (old downtown) backstreets near Shin-Ohashi bridge, with a cozy, well-worn interior of tatami floor seating and small tables for about 18 guests. Founded in 1931 and run by the same family across three generations, it makes everything in house: Tokyo-style nihachi soba, hand-made udon, and its own dashi and dipping broth. The kitchen also takes pride in a long-simmered house curry. A welcoming neighborhood spot to rest during a stroll.
