




Asakusa Unana is a Kanto-style eel specialty shop tucked into the narrow, retro-atmosphere Hatsune Kouji shopping alley near Hanayashiki. Opened in 2020, it is recognized as the birthplace of Asakusa's famous grilled eel rice ball, now a well-known street-food item in the neighborhood. Eel is domestically sourced and grilled over binchotan charcoal in the traditional Kanto method (steamed first, then charcoal-grilled). The compact space has a cluttered, lived-in backstreet-stall character with a small eat-in counter area available near the main counter.
