Daikokuya is a retro, family-run eatery on Narita-san Omotesando, a few steps from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, with a wood-built interior of tatami seating, low tables, and a counter that feels frozen in the Showa era. Founded in 1825, it originally combined an inn with its dining room and is one of the street's oldest surviving shops. The menu centers on hand-made soba noodles, though it also serves grilled eel, donburi rice bowls, and a locally famous fried curry bread. It is a relaxed, easygoing alternative to the long lines at the neighborhood's eel specialists.
