Inakichi is a hushed, old-school sake bar tucked into a quiet Toranomon backstreet, run by a kimono-clad proprietress. Genuine ukiyo-e woodblock prints and Japanese-style furnishings line the tiny eight-seat counter, giving the room the feel of a private den rather than a typical izakaya; the shop's name is said to come from a geisha of the same name. Open since July 2007, the focus here is squarely on sake: around thirty rotating labels are poured by the cup, paired with a short, home-style list of seasonal snacks such as grilled flying fish, cream cheese with fermented fish innards, and rice topped with pickles. Guests are asked to keep voices low and smoking light so the sake's aroma isn't disturbed.
