Toranomon Tare Yakiniku Nonki is a casual, lively yakiniku spot one minute from Toranomon Hills Station, part of a small Tokyo grilled-meat chain built on one idea: house-tare-marinated meat piled onto freshly kettle-cooked rice, prepared using methods learned from Kyoto rice specialist Hachidaime Gihei. Cuts are hand-massaged in a house-made sauce and grilled on old-style roasters, filling the room with a smoky aroma. Standouts include Kagoshima wagyu "Jo-aka" premium red meat, mixed offal "Shiro", and a raw wagyu yukhoe topped with egg yolk. The room is calm and roomy with sofa seating and private rooms, popular with families and groups for a no-frills meat-and-rice feast.
