Sakura is a small, single-counter neighborhood izakaya tucked into a quiet residential corner of Morishita, run in the friendly home-style-cooking (kateiryori) tradition of Tokyo's small "koryoriya" eateries. Open since May 2024, it has built a loyal following of regulars in just its first couple of years. The menu changes daily on a handwritten whiteboard, mixing classic Japanese izakaya dishes — simmered kinpira burdock, mekabu seaweed salad, salt-grilled buri — with playful crossover items like nachos, ratatouille, and meat sauce pasta. A well-stocked drinks list covers draft beer, highballs, chuhai, cold and hot sake, and tequila shots, making it a relaxed after-work spot for casual drinking and small plates.
