Founded in 1892, shortly after Yokohama's port opened to foreign trade, Manchinro is one of the oldest and most prestigious Cantonese restaurants in Yokohama Chinatown, rebuilt in 1946 after wartime destruction. The main building spans 480 seats across a spacious, elegant dining room with private rooms, sofa seating, and occasional live music, and is fully barrier-free. The kitchen draws on classic Guangdong cooking techniques to bring out the natural flavor of premium seafood, meat, and vegetables, with dishes such as roasted char siu, shark fin soup, and Beijing roast duck, plus original desserts by an in-house pastry chef. Seasonal chef's recommendations built around fresh market ingredients are also popular with regulars.
